Ye Olde Bell is celebrating the arrival of The Tour of Britain Cycle Race by creating a special one-off menu based around produce from the local area.

The hotel in Barnby Moor will be the perfect place to watch the prestigious event as cyclists will race past the property during Stage four of the challenge on Wednesday, 6 September at around 2pm.

Served from 12 noon the ‘Flavours of Nottinghamshire’ menu, available for one day only, will showcase regional produce and feature and option of 2 or 3 delicious courses. Dishes include the likes of Field mushroom and Stichelton cheese risotto and Warm chocolate brownie served with Thaymar ice cream.

The Tour of Britain is an 8 stage cycle race featuring 20 international teams. It starts in Edinburgh on September 3rd. Stage 4 will start at Mansfield at 11am and go via Harworth, Barnby Moor, Retford to Newark on Trent. The race ends in Cardiff on September 10.

North Nottinghamshire has long had a connection with cycling. Former champion Tommy Simpson, who was one of Britain’s most successful cyclists, was originally from Harworth and trained on many of the local roads.

Ye Olde Bell’s ‘Flavours of Nottinghamshire’ menu is priced at £18 for two courses and £22 for three.
