Hello everyone! I’m a local Derbyshire bird, and along with my family and friends, I love to spread my wings and get my beak sticky sampling food, wine, and beer at local restaurants and venues. Along the way, we enjoy discovering hidden gems and having good times in our glorious neighbourhood.

I’m not particularly snobby about fancy food or surroundings; what matters to me is that a place is clean, friendly, has a bit of atmosphere, and serves up food that’s done well—after all, that’s their trade!

My aim is to share my experiences and hopefully inspire you to step out of your usual haunts and try something new. Supporting our local businesses is important—without it, our villages and towns risk losing some real gems, and life would be a lot duller for it.

Of course, we all have off days. My reviews aren’t about nitpicking or slating people; if something isn’t quite to my taste, I usually won’t make a fuss. That said, if something is genuinely off—like waiting an hour for food without any explanation—I think it’s fair to mention it, as most people wouldn’t be happy with that.
