The Cavendish Hotel at Baslow invites you to an exclusive dining event on the evening of Thursday, 22nd January, celebrating the best of home-produced foods and fine English wines, hosted by hotel Sommelier, Stuart Bond.

Taking place in the relaxed elegance of the hotel’s Garden Room, the three-course menu has been mindfully crafted by Head Chef, Joe Bains, to offer diners the perfect pairing of our country’s seasonal food, including estate-grown produce, and some from the Peak District’s most acclaimed producers.

Savoury dishes include Seaweed Cured North Sea Cod or BBQ Celeriac, followed by Chatsworth Beef Wellington or Jerusalem Artichoke and Tunworth Ravioli. The wines selected for the evening include a refined English sparkling wine, along with the Chatsworth Estate’s own Muscat of Alexandria dessert wine, for diners to sample.

This relaxed and sociable evening promises to be a truly inspiring celebration of home-produced food and wine. Tickets are priced at £69 per person. The evening begins at 6.30pm with an arrival drink of English sparkling wine, then sitting down for dinner at 7pm. The three-course menu and drinks pairing will be hosted by Stuart, who will introduce his curated choice of wines, and interact with diners. The selection of English wines enjoyed on the evening will also be available to purchase to enjoy at home.

Guests may opt to stay over and enjoy the warm hospitality on offer at The Cavendish, which we are proud to share has won many awards, since re-opening in summer 2024. These include The Times and Sunday Times Hotel of the Year, as well as AA Hotel of the Year.  We are also delighted to have recently been awarded a One Michelin key, which is the Michelin Guide’s new benchmark of excellence for the hotel industry. Accommodation for the evening (room only) from £225 per room, for a twin or double room.

Space is limited to 40 guests for our ‘Taste of England’ dining and wine event. To secure your place, please contact the hotel’s reception team:
