The Oak & Acorn has been officially reopened by the Deputy Mayor, on 3rd December, following an extensive remodel. The pub and its staff are planning a host of fundraising events and activities in the upcoming months, aiming to raise money and awareness is support of Macmillan, Cancer Research and Help the Heroes.

The Derby Pub & Grill celebrated its reopening by inviting Oakwood Councillor Frank Harwood to officially reopen the new look pub, making him guest of honour at a ceremonial ribbon cutting ceremony.

Located on Danebridge Crescent, the refreshed Oak & Acorn resumed serving guests after an extensive two-week refurbishment. Following a significant investment three new jobs have been created for the local area.

Commenting on the pub’s new look, general manager, Jane McManamon, said: “We’re so pleased at how brilliant the Oak & Acorn looks following the refurbishment, and we were thrilled to have Councillor Harwood here to cut the ceremonial ribbon for us.

“Frank is a regular guest here and works hard for the local community both as a councillor for Oakwood and in his role as President of the Oakwood Branch of the Royal British Legion. We’re so pleased to have Frank here to officially mark the start of our new chapter and represent our commitment to community causes.

“Bringing the new look Sizzling Pub & Grill to Derby is really exciting for the whole team. At Sizzling Pub & Grill, we want to offer good food and good value for all our guests, and we’re thrilled to be providing the area with a new dining destination that does that in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.

“The pub looks fantastic following its refurbishment. We can’t wait to welcome back our regulars and the people of the Derby to see what the new look Oak & Acorn is all about.”

Following the refurbishment, the Oak & Acorn will continue to look to support the local community with a calendar of fundraising initiatives throughout the year.
