Peak Edge Hotel, fresh from winning Silver in the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence, is expanding its family-friendly offering ahead of the summer holidays as new research suggests 78% of Britons are planning a UK break this year, while a temporary Government VAT reduction is expected to make many family attractions more affordable.

The Peak District hotel has launched a dedicated family guide, expanded awareness of its family accommodation options and is highlighting the wide range of attractions within easy reach of the property, including Chatsworth Farmyard and Adventure Playground, Matlock Farm Park, Crich Tramway Village, Heights of Abraham and the famous caves of Castleton.

The move comes as the Government introduces a temporary reduction in VAT from 20% to 5% on qualifying children's meals and many family attractions between 25 June and 1 September, helping families make the most of the school holidays while keeping costs down.

Mark Thurman, Managing Director at Peak Edge Hotel, said:

"We've always welcomed families, but we're seeing growing demand from parents looking for short breaks that are enjoyable, affordable and easy to organise.

"The combination of strong interest in UK staycations and the Government's summer VAT reduction is great news for families. It means parents can enjoy some of the country's best attractions while making their budgets stretch a little further."

Already recognised as one of the Peak District's leading countryside hotels, Peak Edge offers interconnecting rooms, family suites, cots and z-beds, children's menus and family-friendly breakfast options, making it an ideal base for exploring the region.

The Peak District attracts more than 12.6 million visitor days every year and remains one of England's most popular destinations for family breaks. Tourism contributes more than £3.5 billion annually to the wider Derbyshire and Peak District economy.

Mark added:

"The Peak District is perfect for families because there is so much variety within a relatively small area. One day you can be exploring caves, the next meeting animals at a farm park or enjoying a family walk through some of Britain's most spectacular countryside.

"We want to make it as easy as possible for families to enjoy everything the area has to offer, whether they're staying for a weekend or a longer summer break."

Peak Edge's new family guide includes family walks, rainy-day activities, visitor attractions and practical tips to help parents plan memorable summer adventures.
