We have a saying that ‘there’s a gin out there for everyone… And that’s what we want you to find when you visit a Gin Jamboree; Britain’s original and best celebration of the ‘Gin Craze’!

The Gin Jamboree arrives in Derby on Saturday 11th May with two sessions, an afternoon session from 12 noon until 5pm and an evening session from 6.30pm to 11.30pm - both being held at the Derby old Library in the city centre.

Upon arrival, you’ll be presented with you own ‘goldfish bowl’ glass, filled with goodies, this is yours to use and then take home at the end of the event. Most importantly, if your tasting booklet describing the 150+ Gins we have on offer! These are all laid out on our massive Gin bar with each Gin numbered and a description giving you the “perfect mix” i.e. the best tonic or other mixer & garnish to pair with each them all. As you may have trouble deciding what to choose first, the first G&T is on us; a specially selected Gin from one of our sponsors - Majestic Wine.

Returning this season is ‘Sebastian’s Stash’. This is an exciting range of high strength, unusual, rare and often expensive Gins that perhaps you will not encounter anywhere else, so it is a great opportunity to try these.

Snacks and a delicious Louisiana-style Jambalaya supper are provided as part of your ticket, along with music, entertainment and a mixology team who will chat about gin or just about anything else.

For those thirsty for more gin (and knowledge), we offer a tutored ‘Breakout Session’ during the evening. For a cost of just £10 per person, you’ll taste through 4 premium gins and learn from the experts about how gin is made, the different styles of gin and how to serve them - All delivered in a fun, light-hearted way. Booking in advance recommended as places are limited.

Every gin offered at a Gin Jamboree is available to buy ‘on-the-night’ by the bottle to take home. You can order at any point during the evening and your bottle(s) will be ready for you to collect as you are leaving. There is also a wide range of gin themed gifts for sale.

In all, our Gin Jamboree’s are much more than just a tasting session. They’re an opportunity to socialise, discuss, exchange ideas and most of all have fun!

Please note: Our bars operate on a token system which can be purchased on the night from the Voucher Desk. A Pink Voucher costs £12 (Can be picked up at nexus online) and is worth 2 measures (25ml) of gin plus tonic and garnish or 4 half measures (12.5ml) plus tonic. A Green Voucher is our ‘super-saver’ card and costs £25 and is worth 5 measures.
