Fischer's at Baslow Hall are delighted to announce that they were awarded their 24th Michelin star at last night's 2018 awards ceremony. A huge achievement, Fischer's have retained their Michelin star since 1994, when they were first given the accolade.

"We are delighted to have been awarded the accolade. It’s very much a team effort, and reflects the energy and effort that is put in” - Fischer's Head Chef Rupert Rowley

Situated within a beautiful, 100 year old Grade II listed manor house in the heart of the Peak District, Michelin starred Fischer’s at Baslow Hall offers an unforgettable culinary experience. Placing British ingredients and modern techniques at the core of its cuisine, Fischer’s is home to a state-of-the-art kitchen complete with a Kitchen Tasting Bench at its centre.

At the helm of award-winning Fischer’s kitchen is Head Chef Rupert Rowley. A native Yorkshire-man, Rowley spent a number of years developing his craft in the kitchens of Raymond Blanc’s Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons in Oxford, John Burton Race at 2 Michelin starred L’Ortolan restaurant in Reading and prior to joining Max Fischer at Baslow Hall in 2002, braving the kitchens of Gordon Ramsay at his flagship Chelsea restaurant. Rupert was appointed Head Chef at Fischer’s in 2003, leaving Max Fischer to concentrate on the gardens at Baslow Hall.

Plating up seasonal dishes from locally sourced ingredients, Rupert is passionate about Derbyshire and Yorkshire produce, retaining and building a strong network of superb suppliers, and championing local artisan producers. Indeed 90% of all the ingredients used in the Fischer’s kitchen are British and many of the vegetables and herbs are grown in Baslow Hall’s very own kitchen garden.

In 2015, Fischer’s invested in a new, bespoke, cutting edge kitchen, enabling Rupert and his team to push culinary boundaries with the latest cooking techniques. Situated at the heart of the bustling kitchen, Fischer’s new Kitchen Tasting Bench offers a truly contemporary gourmet experience. The four-seater bench looks directly onto the kitchen, making it a seriously up-close-and-personal experience with a first-class chef and talented kitchen in action, as they create their award-winning dishes right before your eyes.
