A new Peak District ‘Stay & Play’ golf break has launched for the 2026 season, pairing a countryside hotel stay at Peak Edge Hotel with a round at the scenic Stanedge Golf Club - alongside a series of dining prizes designed to extend the experience beyond the fairway.

Available from March 2026, the £240 experience includes an overnight stay for two at Peak Edge Hotel, breakfast the following morning, 10% off à la carte dining at the award-winning Red Lion Restaurant, and a pre-booked round at Stanedge Golf Club’s picturesque course overlooking the Derbyshire countryside.

The collaboration reflects the continued evolution of golf into a more social and accessible pastime. Participation continues to rise worldwide, with 43.3 million adults and juniors playing on-course golf in 2024, according to The R&A.

“Golf today is about enjoying time outdoors and spending time together,” says Mark Thurman, Managing Director at Peak Edge Hotel.

“Many of our guests want a short, scenic round followed by great food and a comfortable stay. Our partnership with Stanedge brings those elements together perfectly.”

Stanedge Golf Club, owned and run by former Ladies European and Asian Tour player and PGA Advanced Fellow Professional Fame Tate, has built a reputation for its welcoming and inclusive approach to the sport.

The club’s 10-hole, 18-tee course offers sweeping Derbyshire views and a relaxed atmosphere that appeals to both seasoned golfers and beginners.

“Golf can sometimes feel intimidating to newcomers,” says Fame Tate, PGA Advanced Fellow Professional.

“But when it’s done right, it’s incredibly sociable. We’ve created a place where people can come with friends, enjoy the scenery and simply have fun with the game.”

As part of the partnership, Peak Edge has provided Stanedge Golf Club with a collection of dining gift vouchers, which will be used as prizes in competitions and promotions throughout the year.

These include £10 drinks vouchers for The Red Lion bar, as well as experiences such as breakfast for two, coffee and cake, and two-course meals for two at the hotel’s award-winning restaurant - giving golfers even more reason to return and enjoy the wider Peak Edge experience.

After their round, guests can unwind at Peak Edge Hotel, a historic country retreat known for its cosy lounges, oak beams and countryside views.

The hotel’s two AA Rosette Red Lion Restaurant showcases locally sourced produce, including ingredients from the nearby Walton Lodge Farm Estate, owned by hotel owner Steve Perez.

The Stay & Play package includes:

• Overnight stay in a Superior Room
• Breakfast the following morning
• Entry to Stanedge Golf Club (tee time arranged in advance)
• 10% off à la carte dining at The Red Lion Restaurant

Together, the partnership offers a golf break that combines fresh air, scenic play and award-winning food, all set against the backdrop of the Peak District countryside.
