Croots Farm Shop outside Duffi eld in Derbyshire has won three awards at the renowned Great British Food Awards 2026, matching its all time record prize haul and best ever in the Butcher’s Product category.
The farm shop run by owner Kay Croot has been awarded a gold medal, a silver medal, and a bronze medal across two categories in the fi ercely competitive national awards.
Croots won both gold and silver Butcher’s Products, for two of its famed burgers, and also scooped a prize in the Beef award, receiving a bronze medal.
The gold and silver prizes in the Butcher’s Product award went to the shop for its Pork, Leek and Smoked Bacon Burger, and its Caramelised Onion Streak Burger respectively. The bronze medal in the Beef award was in recognition of Croots’ 28-day aged Sirloin Steak.
The awards are the latest recognition for the family-run farm shop based outside Duffi eld, following years of national and local success. Last year Croots was named Midlands Regional Winner in the Great British Food Awards, and in 2023 received gold nationally in the pork pie category.
Owner Kay Croot said: “It’s wonderful to be recognised again by the Great British Food Awards, this year for our burgers and for the quality of our beef.
“We pride ourselves on the range and high quality of the local and home-reared meats and pies we produce. To have that pride and that work awarded nationally is really special.
“The awards do so much to promote farm shops like ours all over the country. We’re proud to take part in this important work and to join this annual gathering of food producers.”
