Turtle Bay is the perfect place to celebrate National Vegetarian Week (14-20th May) with vibrant and hearty dishes for vegetarians and vegans. An extensive 32 dishes are vegetarian, which now feature as their very own collection, since the launch of Turtle Bay’s first Vegan and Vegetarian menu in January 2018.

Caribbean cooking is all about laid back ‘liming’ – sharing food and drink with friends over laughter and conversation. Turtle Bay’s aim is to ensure that vegans and vegetarians are just as well catered for as the meat-eaters in any group – allowing for a harmonious and delicious social dining experience. Add fresh, vivid flavours and a carefully curated reggae soundtrack and it all adds up to fabulous way to enjoy meat free dining out (and not a goat’s cheese tart in sight!).

Vegetarian dishes are in abundance across all sections of the Turtle Bay menu…

Cutters are inspired by the beach shack and street vendors across the Caribbean islands.

These great tasting dishes are perfect for a starter or to graze on. Vegetarian ‘cutters’ include the Trini Doubles, Sweet Corn Fritters, and the jam packed Vital Veggie Beach Platter. Okra Ladies’ Fingers are a sizzling side order from the Caribbean – totally moreish, veggie-friendly and you won’t find them on the menu anywhere else.

Light bites and main courses include the Spiced Chickpea Ital Wrap (vegan), the Spinach, Aubergine & Sweet Potato Curry (vegan), the Ital Rundown (vegan) and the Halloumi Mushroom Burger (veggie).

The Beach Salad range is a big on vibrant flavours, making use of some of the superstars of the veg world - kale, chickpeas, rainbow beats, avocado, lime, toasted coconut, pomegranate, butternut squash all vie for attention in the three gorgeous vegan, superfood salad options - Festival, Four Grain and Supervital Green. These can be served alone or topped with grilled halloumi and fresh mango, allowing guests to create their own beautifully refreshing and tasty salad.

The “Chow” menu (vegan and veggie friendly) represents another way to liven up and refresh traditional Turtle Bay choices – it’s a fresh fruit salad from Trinidad made from chopped watermelon or pineapple marinated in herbs such as coriander.

Whether diners are going veggie for the week or celebrating their usual vegetarian lifestyle – Turtle Bay is the perfect place to eat during this year’s National Vegetarian Week.
