Chesterfield welcomed an exciting new addition to its food and drink scene in November 2025 with the opening of The Outbreak, a relaxed new bar and taco kitchen located at 35 Chatsworth Road. The venture is a collaboration between local favourites Eyam Brewery and District Tacos, bringing together expertly brewed beer and bold, flavour-led food in a laid-back setting designed for good times with friends.
The Outbreak offers a carefully curated drinks selection, led by a full range of Eyam Brewery beers — all brewed locally in the historic village of Eyam. Known as the “Plague Village,” Eyam inspires many of the brewery’s distinctive beer names, which in turn inspired the bar’s own name. Alongside Eyam’s core and seasonal brews, guests can enjoy a rotating selection of guest beers, cider, premium spirits and a thoughtfully chosen wine list, ensuring there’s something for every taste.
In the kitchen, District Tacos serves up hand-prepared tacos and sides that are Mexican-inspired but far from traditional. This is food where flavour takes centre stage — bold combinations, fresh ingredients and creative twists that elevate every plate. From vibrant toppings to punchy sauces, each dish is crafted to pair perfectly with the drinks menu, whether guests are dropping in for a quick bite or settling in for the evening.
Designed with comfort and atmosphere in mind, The Outbreak offers a relaxed, welcoming vibe — the kind of place where conversation flows easily and time slips by unnoticed. It’s an ideal spot for couples, groups of friends or colleagues looking to unwind at the end of the week, with an environment that feels equally suited to casual catch-ups and longer, leisurely evenings.
The Outbreak is currently open on Fridays and Saturdays from 4pm to 10.30pm, with the kitchen serving food from 4pm to 8pm on both days. With its blend of locally brewed beer, creative tacos and an inviting atmosphere, The Outbreak is set to become a must-visit destination on Chesterfield’s growing hospitality scene.
