A Midlands‐based, independent coffee house, kitchen and bar company has received a business boost from Retail Entrepreneur Theo Paphitis. Last week, BEAR tweeted Mr Paphitis about their business during ‘Small Business Sunday’ and was amongst the six weekly winners to be hand-picked by Theo himself. The weekly initiative, set up by Mr Paphitis in 2010, now has over 2000 #SBS winners and supports small businesses in the UK.

Business & retail entrepreneur and self-confessed Shopkeeper, Theo, re‐tweeted BEAR’s message to his 500,000 followers and as a result, @bearcoffeeco has gained almost 300 new followers within 24 hours across their social networks. They are also profiled on the #SBS website (www.theopaphitissbs.com) that is exclusive to all Small Business Sunday winners.

Craig Bunting, Co-Founder of BEAR said,

“Our social media has erupted since Theo’s retweet! It’s incredible to see what such a small action from an influential person can do to raise the profile of an independent business. We can’t thank Theo enough for choosing us as one of his winners, and we are very excited to be amongst the last chosen to be able to attend this year’s #SBS event on Friday!”

Small business champion, Theo Paphitis, said:

“We are thrilled to welcome new #SBS members every week and highlight just how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK. My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS re-tweet from me becomes part of a friendly club; like-minded individuals who can share successes and learnings. The website and Shop #SBS will also give a valuable profile to the winners chosen and I wish BEAR every success.”

Anyone looking for a re‐tweet from Theo should tweet him about their business on Sunday between 5 PM and 7.30 PM and include the hashtag #SBS. Six lucky businesses are re‐tweeted every Monday at 8 PM and then invited to enter their profile on the new website, attend the annual #SBS event, and take advantage of the networking opportunities.
