The opening follows months of anticipation and a successful soft launch period. Local press, influencers, friends, family and members of the Nottingham hospitality community were invited to be the first to experience the new two-storey restaurant which features a mezzanine level, and combines Victorian architecture with The Beefy Boy’s trademark playful style, complete with colourful graphics and cheeky neon signs.
Guests enjoyed a feast of The Beefy Boys’ signature American-style dirty burgers, indulgent sides, cocktails, beers and hard shakes (alcoholic milkshakes), with many taking part in smashed patty masterclasses and milkshake demonstrations throughout the evening.
Some of the popular dishes served throughout the evening included the National Burger Awards-winning Oklahoma Onion Boy Burger, the Dirty Boy Burger, Ninja Chicken Wings, Mac ‘n’ Cheese Balls, and more.
Drinks partners Freedom Brewery and Bristol Distilling Co were also hand to offer samples of their beers and spirits to attendee.
Guests also received goodie bags packed with Beefy Boys merchandise, including a copy of the brand’s latest cookbook, The Beefy Boys’ Great British BBQ, burger socks and a selection of gifts kindly provided by valued suppliers, including miniature bottles of vodka and Buffalo Trace Bourbon Whisky from Sazerac, canned wines from NICE Wines, Tubby Tom’s signature seasonings, and spirit samples from Bristol Distilling Co.

Adding to the party atmosphere, founders Anthony ‘Murf’ Murphy, Daniel Mayo-Evans, Christian Williams and Lee Symonds each took turns behind the DJ decks to soundtrack the evening, before taking to the microphone to share the remarkable story behind The Beefy Boys.
What began as four childhood friends cooking burgers together in their back garden in Hereford has grown into one of the UK’s most celebrated burger brands. Nottingham marks The Beefy Boys’ sixth restaurant and their first venture into the East Midlands. Since competing at the World Food Championships in Las Vegas in 2014, the quartet have gone on to open restaurants across Hereford, Shrewsbury, Cheltenham, Bath and Oxford, as well as becoming Sunday Times bestselling authors along the way.
Speaking about the official opening, co-founder Anthony ‘Murf’ Murphy said, “Opening in Nottingham has been something we’ve been looking forward to for a long time and seeing so many people come out to celebrate with us was incredible. We’ve always been about bringing people together over great food, and Nottingham already feels like home. We can’t wait to become part of the city’s fantastic food scene.”
