Never have I been so happy to write something as I am to be typing this… Facebook have upheld our appeal and re-published THE STICKY BEAK BLOG Facebook Page!!! 😊 😊 😊 It’s been a hard, and very puzzling, couple of months, but the outcome is the one we hoped for and that’s the main thing. Back in September I went to ‘like’ a post on our page and was unable to do so; I didn’t think much about it as my phone can be glitchy at times, but then, a couple of hours later, I couldn’t comment on other people’s posts on our page. The alarm bells were starting to ring, but in the evening it all went seriously pear-shaped and defcon-10 was reached; we received a message that our page was being unpublished.

You can’t imagine the panic that His Nibs and I felt – we had absolutely no clue as to the reason and had no idea how to contact FB. Thankfully, we received a point in the right direction from someone we haven’t met, but whose venue we had recently visited (The Ginger Cow in Coningsby, which is fab, btw 😊); we can’t thank you enough for your invaluable help 😊. There has been a lot of toing-and-froing between us and the Meta/FB team and, as with all big corporations, it hasn’t been a quick process but the people we were messaging seemed nice enough – which helped.

Anyhow, fast forward to this morning when I was brushing my teeth (and still waking up, it has to be said) when His Nibs sprang up the stairs - and he doesn’t spring anywhere, trust me, folks!! – saying “we’re back”. “Who’s back?”, I asked, bemused. “We are”. Well, I wasn’t aware I’d been anywhere, so things were really no clearer to me at this point! “Still not following”, says I. Cue an exasperated sigh and the words “The Sticky Beak Blog”. Now the penny dropped and I squealed in delight, albeit short-lived delight as I realised that I was also spraying toothpaste foam everywhere – not great when you know it’ll be you cleaning it up!!

To most people it’s ‘just a blog’: and it is, but it also has sentimental value to Paul and I. Many years ago, it was the feedback from our monthly date-night forays and gradually built up more and more to include invites from food and beverage outlets. Along with the wider venues came more followers, and each and every one of you is a valued member of our online family, but there are a few of you that I want to mention especially. In no particular order: Lisa Minor, Stewy Huckins, Christine Sanderson, Leah Goodall, Kelly Taylor and Shaun Hogg – some of you we know, some we don’t, but you’ve all kept us going in the dark days of being unpublished and starting anew via ‘Sticky Beak Blog’ This ‘SB part2’, as I nick-named it, will remain, but we will eventually unpublish it once we’ve transferred content over.

Huge, heartfelt thanks again to everyone who has contacted us to offer help, advice and support – you’ll never know just how grateful we are/were. But what a fab result; an early Christmas pressie, I reckon, don’t you? Clearly, Santa thinks I’m a good girl 😊His Nibs ain’t too shabby, either! 😊.
