Casa Hotel is celebrating 15 years of success and has welcomed its 370,000th visitor this month, having firmly established itself as one of the region’s most popular destinations for both leisure and business visitors. Founded by local entrepreneur Steve Perez, this 4-star hotel has created a welcoming atmosphere for all types of guests - from corporate professionals and leisure travellers looking for a relaxing escape, to locals seeking great food, drinks, and vibrant social experiences.
“When I couldn’t find a premium hotel that met my own business needs in Chesterfield, I decided to build one,” says Steve Perez. “The idea was simple: to build a space where I could meet clients, host events, and stay comfortably, all in a modern, welcoming environment. Over time, we expanded that vision to make Casa Hotel a perfect destination for both business and leisure guests.”
A Prime Location in the Heart of England
Casa Hotel’s success is driven by its prime location just off the M1 and within easy reach of Sheffield, Derby, and Nottingham. The hotel is a convenient base for both local and national visitors, and its proximity to Chesterfield Railway Station, with direct services to London, makes it an ideal choice for international guests. Casa Hotel’s position also puts it at the doorstep of the beautiful Peak District National Park, attracting visitors who want to explore the natural beauty of the region while enjoying the comforts of a high-quality hotel.
“Chesterfield has proven to be a fantastic location, offering excellent transport links to major cities while maintaining a local charm, and being on the doorstep of the Peak District,” explains Steve. “It’s been exciting to see how this town has developed over the years, both as a tourism hub and as a business destination, and we’re proud to be a part of its growth.”
Concina Restaurant and Barca Bar: The Heart of Socialising in Chesterfield
Along with its accommodation, Casa Hotel’s 2 AA Rosette Cocina restaurant continues to shine as one of Chesterfield’s premier dining destinations. The restaurant’s menu showcases locally sourced ingredients, including heritage beef, pork, fruit, vegetables, and honey from Walton Lodge Estate, just minutes down the road. Cocina is also the first and only restaurant in Derbyshire to feature both a Dry Ager and Josper grill, offering a unique and exceptional dining experience.
Barca Bar also continues to evolve, attracting both locals and hotel guests. Live music made a return earlier this year with an emphasis on local artists, which is creating a buzzy, social atmosphere alongside its signature cocktails and craft beers, tapas-style small plates and stone-baked pizzas.
Celebrating 15 Years with the Community
As Casa Hotel celebrates its 15th anniversary, Steve Perez reflects on what he’s most proud of.
“What I’m most proud of is the positive impact we’ve had on Chesterfield and the surrounding areas. From the beginning, we’ve aimed to provide a space that offers something special to both our local community and visitors. It’s been incredibly rewarding to see our team grow alongside the business and to offer a great place for locals to enjoy, as well as those visiting from farther afield.”
During the pandemic, Casa Hotel was particularly proud of its support for the local community by offering free accommodation to NHS staff. “It was a challenging time, but we wanted to help however we could,” says Steve. “It was a small gesture, but it made a huge difference to those who were working tirelessly to keep everyone safe.”
Steve’s dedication to his team, his guests, and the local community remains a driving force behind the hotel’s continued success. “It’s the people who keep me going,” he shares. “Many of our team have been with us since the beginning, and it’s been wonderful to see their growth and success.”
A Celebratory Event and Future Initiatives
To mark this special anniversary, Casa Hotel will be hosting a celebratory event later this year, bringing together business partners, local clients, and members of the Chesterfield community to reflect on the hotel’s success and future ambitions.
In addition to the anniversary event, Casa Hotel will be launching a series of promotions, competitions, and initiatives throughout the year, giving guests and local businesses the chance to engage with the hotel and win exclusive prizes.
Looking Ahead: The Next 15 Years
Looking forward, Steve Perez remains as committed as ever to ensuring that Casa Hotel continues to innovate and provide exceptional service to both leisure and business guests.
“The hospitality industry is always evolving, and we’ve worked hard to stay ahead of the curve,” he says. “For me, it’s about providing a space where people feel valued and where businesses and leisure travellers alike can succeed and relax. The next 15 years are going to be just as exciting as the first.”
