The Brewhouse at Melbourne Hall is delighted to team up with Sat Bains, the Derby born, two Michelin starred chef to start serving from Friday 8th September, a selection of his delicious new #MommaBains homestyle Punjabi range within The Courtyard of the South Derbyshire stately home.

As owner of Restaurant Sat Bains in Nottingham, the decorated chef and his team will be working with the team at The Brewhouse providing the venues visitors with a choice of Lamb Keema & Fries, Aubergine sabji with roti wrap and a Chickpea curry with tamarind chutney and their famous samosas.

The Brewhouse joins an exclusive list of sites serving the products that include Rick Stein’s Cornish outlets and winners of the chip shop of the year, The Cod’s Scallops.

Roger Lowe from The Brewhouse comments, “Having known Sat and Amanda Bains for quite some time, the opportunity to feature #MommaBains dishes at The Brewhouse was too good to pass up. We can’t wait to give our customers an authentic taste of Punjabi food created in the Michelin starred kitchen of Restaurant Sat Bains.”

Sat Bains says “We’re super happy to be partnering with the team at The Brewhouse at Melbourne Hall, bringing 3 dishes from our new Momma Bains product line from the family that is, Restaurant Sat Bains. It’s homestyle Punjabi food that can be eaten as part of a meal or more simply as a snack. Until now Momma Bains has only been available at a selected few sites, carefully chosen to ensure that the product stays ‘on brand’. . I’ve spent a few afternoons in The Courtyard enjoying the refreshments, so having The Brewhouse at Melbourne Hall as our newest site is a perfect fit.”

The idea for #MommaBains came from the regular visits Sat’s mother would make to his Michelin starred restaurant in Nottingham, laden with goodies for her son and his team.

Soon trials were underway at Restaurant Sat Bains and, along with his head chef John Freeman, numerous batches of all 3 dishes were made, but they couldn’t recreate the homemade taste that his mum could make… so they let her do it! Under the watchful eye of Momma Bains, they developed a chickpea curry and a tamarind chutney which is then lovingly placed into every single handmade samosa.  Sat’s wife Amanda ensured the same principles were applied as running their two Michelin starred restaurant and that the chefs at Restaurant Sat Bains stayed true to Momma Bains methods.
