South Normanton based, Pub People Company acquired the freehold of the Duke of Sussex in Sutton in Ashfield earlier in the year and has agreed a joint investment with Pentrich Brewing Company based near Ripley.
The pub will undergo an extensive refurbishment throughout October, ready to reopen in early November, which includes a new catering kitchen, structural work and complete redcoration to the inside trading area.
Going forward the Duke of Sussex will focus on Pentrich Brewing Co cask ales and home cooked food.
Joe Noble, Head Brewer at Pentrich Brewing Co, commented, “this is an exciting project for such a young brewery and will enable our cask ales to be showcased in a quality community pub”. He goes on to say,” locally we have been delighted with how our beers have been received and were pleased to be awarded the title of Best New Brewery 2017 by the Castle Rock pub estate in Nottingham”
Andrew Crawford, Operations Director at Pub People Company adds, “ Pub People Co have been successfully operating pubs in the East Midlands for 24 years. The Duke of Sussex purchase and investment alongside Pentrich Brewing Co will enable us to rejuvenate the pub with a high quality community offer concentrating on their excellent cask ales.
The pub will reopen in early November
