The family-owned Kedleston Country House is celebrating after being awarded two highly prestigious awards - a four gold star AA restaurant with rooms rating and one AA Rosette award.

The venue was praised for its style and relaxed atmosphere, with staff being described as attentive and providing outstanding levels of service. The Kedleston joins a select handful of other four gold star venues in Derby.

Commenting on the awards General Manager Sam Ascroft said: “To achieve our four gold star award restaurant with rooms accreditation along with our first AA rosette for the restaurant is a wonderful recognition of all the hard work put in by the team. Following the inspection we were especially praised for our outstanding levels of service, cleanliness and excellent quality of the impressive building.”

The restaurant also celebrated being awarded one AA rosette and was recognised for its culinary excellence with the Taste of The Kedleston menu developed by Head Chef Joe Wood. Feedback received complimented the wonderful flavours, textures and techniques used to create the dishes on the menu.

The overall four gold star rating was achieved in the assessment of the five areas of quality; cleanliness, service, bedrooms, bathrooms, food and provision of services and facilities.

Managing Director Paul Harris commented: “We are thrilled to receive this level of recognition for everyone’s hard work at The Kedleston Country House. We have always been passionate about creating a special place. We look forward to a bright future under the leadership of Sam and the team. In fact we’re now entering into the next exciting chapter for the venue with the addition of seven further planned boutique bedrooms to increase our offering to both corporate customers and leisure guests as The Kedleston establishes itself as an award winning venue in Derbyshire.”

The Kedleston Country House opened in 2015 following an extensive refurbishment and combines a stunning Georgian building with a modern country house originally offering five boutique bedrooms. The new works will increase this to 12 bedrooms.

The restaurant offers a choice of ever changing seasonal menus and is open for Champagne breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. The relaxing bar has an extensive choice of drinks including The Kedleston’s own Gin, an extensive range of craft beers, fine wines and Georgian cocktails as well Derby Brewing Co’s own beers.

The wedding venue has already hosted many successful weddings to date with wedding ceremonies taking place in the beautiful Orangery which leads out onto the terrace and Georgian garden, offering views out onto the Derbyshire countryside.
