The summer holidays are here, and families across Derbyshire are looking for affordable ways to keep their children entertained and fed. Luckily, dozens of restaurants across the county are helping parents with kids-eat-free offers.
Nicco Restaurant and Bar is among the businesses helping parents cut the cost of feeding their children during the summer holidays.
Bhav Kumar, co-owner of Pride Park based restaurant, said: “School holidays are a fabulous opportunity to spend time together as a family, enjoy good food and make memories but it can also be a costly period. As a family friendly restaurant, we are delighted to play our part by offering a deal that allows families to eat out without breaking the bank.”
The award-winning venue, which specialises in offering contemporary Indian cuisine, is welcoming children under the age of 12 to eat free from its kids three course menu throughout August with a full paying adult.
Children can tuck into starters including cucumber and carrots with mint chutney, or papadums and chutneys. There is a selection of mains from veg hakka noodles or butter chicken with pilau rice to fried chicken burger and chips or tandoori margherita pizza.
The young diners can also select a dessert including tasty treats such as a cake lollipop, chocolate brownie or Nutella Naan. The full menu choices are available on the Nicco website.

2. Pizza Express says that if you’re heading into the Derbion or its Iron Gate restaurant with your kids Monday to Sunday then you can take advantage of its kids eat free deal. Get a free Piccolo meal when you dine-in and purchase an adult main meal.
3. Dunelm Pausa Café in Ascot Drive, Derby, is offering a kids eat free deal with a £5 adult spend. The deal is available daily with the café advertising this as an all day, every day offer.
4. Morrisons Café in Wheatcroft Way, Derby, is easing the pain of shopping with a kids eat free deal. You’ll get one free kids meal with one adult meal over £5. The supermarket has partnered with Birdseye for the offer.
5. Zizzi in the Derbion is offering a three-course kids eat free deal throughout the summer holiday Sunday - Friday until September 6, 2026. You’ll need to join its Zillionaires’ Club and purchase an adult main course.
6. The Merlin in Orient Way, Derby is offering a kids eat for 88p deal during the Government’s temporary VAT reduction on children’s meals. Available Monday to Friday, it is available until August 28.
7. Burger King restaurants and takeaways throughout Derby and the county are offering a kids eat free deal between now and August 31. The offer is only available on the Burger King App and orders must include an adult meal.
