A major £410,000 refurbishment of The Bull’s Head, Denby is planned for 2026 by Heineken owned, Star Pubs with work scheduled to start once a new licensee has been recruited.

The top-to-toe internal and external refurbishment is intended to create the best family and dog friendly food-led pub in the area offering great home-cooked food and a wide range of top-quality drinks including premium beer, cider, spirits, wine and cocktails.

Funds will be spent reconfiguring the interior, upgrading the kitchen and creating a stunning airy dining space incorporating oak, glass, hanging plants and an open fire. The new layout will consist of a cosy local’s bar with a log burner and flagstone floors, a dining area seating 70 plus and a 40-seater mezzanine level above with the flexibility for it to be used for private functions and events.

The outside will be given a striking new façade.  There will also be terraces seating 80 cand parking spaces for 49 cars.

The pub comes with a two-bedroom flat, which is having a new kitchen and bathroom installed as part of the investment.

Says Paul Willis Star Pubs Business Development Manager: “We’re investing significant funds in The Bull’s Head; it will be one of the most spectacular transformations that we do this year.  There will nothing like it in the area.  It will have a real wow factor that will attract people from near and far.

“In addition to catering for the village and surrounding area, The Bull’s Head is in a great location just eight miles north of Derby, three miles east of Belper and near the Denby Pottery Visitor Centre.

“All that is needed now for us to progress these plans is someone who has managed a pub or restaurant, is passionate about the project and keen to take on a new challenge.  In effect they will be getting a brand-new pub, a clean slate with the opportunity to shape and build the business they want.  If anyone is interested in this exciting opportunity, you can find out more at https://www.starpubs.co.uk/pubs/bulls-head-denby or call 08085 94 95 96.”
