Well known Belper Moroccan restaurant Olive has reopened in new premises in Unit 3, The Courtyard, 8 Market Place, Belper and promises to bring a taste of Morocco as it welcomes customer old and new.
After a short break, serving takeaways throughout the pandemic, Olive has moved to bigger premises and will be branching out into new territory offering Moroccan breakfast/brunch on Sundays as well as the delicious evening meals Friday and Saturday on which its fine reputation is built.
Owner Jacqui Gilbert commented “I’m excited to be able to offer something new to the town and hope people will enjoy the Moroccan breakfast experience as much as they have embraced the evening meals. This year I’ll also be able to offer a festive lunch for people who find themselves alone on Christmas Day. It’s always a lot of fun and I really missed being able to do this last year”.
Olive originally opened back in 2016 after Jacqui had lived in Marrakech and honed her cooking skills in the local dishes. Opening the restaurant meant she could share that experience and create the atmosphere of a Moroccan Riad here in Belper serving foods that can transport you somewhere exotic without leaving the comfort of your home town!
