From ancient cities carved into rose-red stone to vast deserts glowing at sunset, Jordan is a country that quietly steals your heart. What began as a long-held travel dream quickly became one of the most rewarding and emotionally rich journeys we’ve ever taken. Everywhere we went, we were met with warmth, generosity and a genuine pride in sharing this remarkable country with visitors.

Our route took us from the bustling streets and timeless ruins of Amman and Jerash, through the awe-inspiring majesty of Petra and Little Petra, into the cinematic landscapes of Wadi Rum, and finally to the otherworldly calm of the Dead Sea. Along the way, there were unforgettable meals, extraordinary landscapes, moving moments of history, and countless acts of kindness from people who asked for nothing in return.

To do this incredible destination justice, we’ve split our Jordan adventure into four dedicated articles, each focusing on a distinct part of the journey. Whether you’re planning your own trip, reminiscing about a visit, or simply travelling vicariously from your sofa, these stories capture the sights, flavours and experiences that made Jordan such a joy to explore.

Amman & Jerash – Jordan’s Historic Heartbeat

The Dead Sea – Floating, Mud Baths, and Ultimate Relaxation

The final stop of our odyssey was the Dead Sea, a place I had dreamed of visiting since childhood. From the surreal experience of floating effortlessly on its mineral-rich waters to slathering ourselves in black Dead Sea mud, this was a deeply emotional and restorative end to our journey.

A Special Thanks to Those Who Made Our Trip Unforgettable

Our Jordan adventure wouldn’t have been nearly as seamless or memorable without the people and organisations who supported us along the way. Huge thanks to our personal travel agent, Sally-Ann, for helping us craft the perfect itinerary, and to Dream Jordan for arranging expert guides and comfortable transfers in particular our driver Raed. Every hotel and camp—from Amman West Hotel to Little Petra Bedouin Camp, Rum Magic Nights, and the Dead Sea Spa Hotel—welcomed us with warmth, attention to detail, and outstanding service (especially our 4x4 driver and guide Salem). For anyone planning a Jordan trip, we wholeheartedly recommend connecting with these professionals and establishments to experience the very best of the country.
