Just complete an online form to nominate one or more of your favourite places to eat and drink in Chesterfield.

Every nomination will be entered into a draw for two tickets to the Chesterfield Food and Drink Awards and the opportunity to meet the host Lesley Waters .



The categories for nominations are;


Apprentice of the Year 
New to this year’s ceremony will be the chance to commend the work of apprentice chef’s across Chesterfield.


Apprentice Employer of the Year
New to this year’s ceremony will be the chance to commend the work of employers of apprentices across Chesterfield.


Chesterfield Restaurant of the Year
The judges are looking for original and creative menus, where high quality fresh ingredients are at the heart. The venue will be located within 6 miles of Chesterfield.


Cafe/Tea Room of the Year
The judges in this category are looking for a selection of cakes and bites to eat, as well as a welcoming, comfortable and relaxing environment. The venue will be located within a 6 mile radius of Chesterfield.


Gastro Pub of the Year 
The judges are looking for the establishments that offer a consistency and excellence in both their food and drinks specialism, as well as good facilities and a great ambiance. The venue will be located within a 6 mile radius of Chesterfield.


Pub/Bar of the Year
The judges are looking at staff knowledge and service and the overall feel and facilities of the pub. The venue will be located within a 6 mile radius of Chesterfield.


Chesterfield’s Best Newcomer
In the best newcomer category the judges are looking for a restaurant which demonstrates an innovative offer, excellent customer service as well as bringing something new and different to the town. The venue will be located within a 6 mile radius of Chesterfield.


Best Customer Service
The customer service given by a business is what makes a good restaurant excellent. Judges are looking for examples of how businesses have exceeded in the way they treat their customers. The venue will be located within a 6 mile radius of Chesterfield.


Best Out of Town
This category is for businesses that are within 10 miles of Chesterfield. Judges are looking for a high level of excellence and consistency in service and products. The venue will be located outside of the Chesterfield Borough Council Boundary and within a 10 mile radius of Chesterfield.


Chesterfield Food Producer 
The judges are looking for successful local food producers which are located within a 10 mile radius of Chesterfield.


Chesterfield Food Hero
Chesterfield Food Hero is presented to a local business or individual who has made an impact on the local food scene.  This award is selected by the Board of Destination Chesterfield.


Young Chef of the Year
Local Chefs assess the young chefs from Chesterfield College.


International Restaurant of the Year
The judges are looking for restaurants that offer dishes from around the world using authentic recipes. The venue will be located within a 6 mile radius of Chesterfield.


Family Friendly Award
The judges are looking for venues that are truly family friendly offering food, service and facilities aimed at both adults and children. The venue will be located within a 6 mile radius of Chesterfield.Conference and Banqueting Venue of the Year
The judges are looking for the best conference and meeting venues in Chesterfield, based not only on the food they serve but their customer service in advance of an event and with delegates on the day. The venue will be able to host events for over 120 people and be located within 10 miles of Chesterfield.



The 2018 Chesterfield Food and Drink Awards ceremony takes place on Wednesday 31st October in the modern Heart Space building at Chesterfield College.


Hosted by celebrity chef, Lesley Waters, the popular black tie event will include a two course dinner made by catering students and staff at Chesterfield College.


Tickets to attend the awards ceremony will be available once the finalists are announced in July.


Tickets will be initially be available for purchase to finalists of the awards.  If any are remaining by the end of August, Chesterfield Champions will have opportunity to purchase tickets for a week and then they will go on general sale.
