The Merchant’s Yard Bar and Restaurant in Tideswell is delighted to have been awarded two AA Rosettes, following an inspection from AA Hospitality. This coveted award puts the restaurant firmly in the top 10% of dining establishments in the country; a fantastic achievement of which the team is justifiably very proud.
Nestled in the heart of the Peak District and opened in November 2015, The Merchant’s Yard has gone from strength to strength since its conception. The arrival of Head Chef Carl Riley in August 2016 further supported the development of the restaurant, already much-loved by many locals and visitors alike, in its journey towards this prestigious recognition.
Head Chef Carl says, “It’s been a great team effort to achieve such a prestigious award and I’m very proud of the restaurant. I feel very humbled to see individuals grow and flourish with the businesses. I hope now this will lead to other accolades such as the Michelin and Good Food guide. I would also like to thank our guests that have supported us from our local following as well as people returning from further afield.”
Restaurant owner David Hopkins adds, ‘We are so thrilled to receive such a prestigious accolade so soon after opening our doors less than two years ago. The award is testament to the dedication of our young staff at The Merchant’s Yard who have worked tirelessly to ensure that the same high standards of excellence and customer service we strive to attain in our family business Markovitz, are their benchmark too.”
Andrew Oxley, AA Head of Hotel & Hospitality Services commented ‘we, at the AA, were delighted to have awarded 2 AA rosettes to the Merchant’s Yard. This is a credit to the hard work and talent of the kitchen brigade and is thoroughly deserved.’
