New 'Gastro-Hub', The Post House, Opens In Derby
What’s better than somewhere nice to eat and drink? A building that houses several different places to eat and drink, all under one roof; that’s what’s better!
Jade Devall and her partner Antony Dietz are fellow foodies who wanted to create a hub for gastro lovers, in an open setting that allows people to buy produce from local, and non-chain companies.
The Post House is in what was once the old Post Office premise on Victoria Street in the heart of Derby, and can seat up to 160 diners. Inspiration for the project came to Jade after she had seen other similar venues in Denmark and the UK.
Personally, I love the idea that I can visit one venue and have a choice of great artisan food and drink; I’m sure that the businesses that each has a unit within the Post House will all benefit from the increased footfall that choice brings to an area.

- Bohns: this burger seller uses the best locally sourced ingredients and combines them with its own dry spices to entice the taste buds out to play.
- Lorentes: everyone knows Derby’s own award-winning tapas venue on Friar Gate; well now you can come and get great Spanish Tapas at The Post House venue too.
- Sapori: not ones to do things by halves, this team learned their craft from chefs in Italy. Derby now has the perfect Pizza place on its doorstep thanks to Sapori.
- Fresh Rootz: with flavours from all across the globe, this vegetarian-, and Vegan-, street food venue is sure to have something you like.
- The Sorting Office Bar: the Post House’ own bar will be the place to quench your thirst with its excellent wines, spirits, ciders, and lagers.
- Tollgate Brewery: if it’s fine ales and craft beers that float your boat then this micro-brewery unit is worth checking out.
- Post House Cocktail Bar: this venue definitely has the wow-factor, combined with (apparently) the best mixologist in town and mind-blowingly good tipples. Count me in!
- Chocolate Alchemy: based in Charnwood Forest, this bijou artisan Chocolatier has brought their handmade cakes, fine roasted coffee, and Hot Chocolate to Derby. Yum!

The Post House has its doors open daily from 9am until 10.30pm, and on Sunday from 9am until 8pm. You can be sure of great food and beverages, and friendly service, in a great venue, so what are you waiting for? Get down there and see for yourself :)
