Having recently celebrating ten years at The Saracen’s Head in Shirley, husband and wife team Robin and Terri Hunter have added another achievement to their gastro pub business having been announced as LUX Magazine Best Derbyshire GastroPub 2017 in the magazines prestigious Restaurant & Bar Awards.
The 2017 Restaurant and Bar award raises a glass to those whose innovative thinking, tireless efforts and dedication to the industry has led to the creation of some unique dining places. Chef and landlord Robin Hunter commented “it’s always great to be nominated for an award by our customers and we’re thrilled to have won the best Derbyshire gastropub, it’s fantastic to see all our hard work being recognised”
The gastro pub, just ten miles from Derby, is one of only seven places in Derbyshire which is listed in the world famous Michelin guide. With inspectors describing “a rustic, open-plan dining pub opposite the village church, in a remote, picturesque village. Menus are chalked on blackboards above the open fire and offer an eclectic mix of generously portioned pub and restaurant-style classics” The team also recently celebrated inclusion in the Harden’s Best UK Restaurant Guide for the fourth year running.
