The popular Castle Inn pub in Castleton, part of the Vintage Inns group, will be given a new lease of life this month thanks to a stunning makeover.

The Castle Inn on Castle Street, which closed on Monday, is set to undergo a major refurbishment both internally and externally, that will give the much-loved country eating and drinking spot event more rural charm and rustic character than ever before. The makeover will see the pub reopen on Friday 11th November.

As part of the overhaul, the Inn Keeper’s Lodge hotel at the Castle Inn will also receive a full refurbishment. The bustling hotel at The Castle, which provides rustic accommodation for walkers and businesspeople alike, closed at the end of October and will reopen to weary travellers on Wednesday 16th November. The newly renovated B&B will offer 15 plush rooms, with soft furnishings and luxurious en-suite bathrooms, encompassing charming country accommodation.

At the centre of the Castle Inn’s overhaul will be a revamp of the dining and bar area which will have new furniture, carpets and lighting throughout, additional seating and roaring open log fires providing the perfect cosy setting to enjoy a quiet pint, or a share a bottle of wine with friends.

Cath Maskell, General Manager, comments: “We’re really excited to be unveiling the new look Castle Inn this November. For so many years, the pub has been at the heart of the local community and our hotel really means that we can welcome everyone from far and wide. We serve great quality, hearty pub food and are perfect for a quiet dinner with friends, or a Sunday lunch with the whole family. Set in the heart of the Peak District, The Castle embodies exactly what a country pub should be, and we’re sure our new surroundings will offer our guests a real home from home feel.

“We’re confident that the refurbishment will not only be a big hit with locals, but will attract new customers from neighbouring towns such as Buxton and Bakewell. We’re in a fantastic location, boasting a short commute to larger Cities such as Sheffield, so we are hoping to attract those seeking an idyllic country getaway, who will perhaps visit the delights of the Blue John Caverns too.”
