Deliveroo, the on-demand delivery service for high-quality restaurant meals, is celebrating its first birthday in Derby.

Since its launch last year, more than 40 restaurants have signed up to Deliveroo and more than 50 jobs have been created for local people in Derby, with the majority of these being the Deliveroo riders that aim to deliver your food which will be cooked fresh to order and delivered to your door within 30 minutes.

Customers in Derby can even order from the city’s more unique restaurants, including Derby Pyclet Parlour and The Old Bell Hotel, which offers Sunday Roasts and Real Ale.

The riders, who deliver to homes, offices and addresses across Derby via a fleet of delivery mopeds and bicycles, cover more than 1,200km a week. In fact, during the first year of being present in Derby the riders have covered over 62,000km, which is the equivalent of travelling around the world one and a half times.

This month, Deliveroo has unveiled its new visual identity, logo and rider equipment that enhances riders’ safety and style through a brightly coloured, hyper-reflective kit, as well as a new logo, which aims to become a shorthand for great food delivered anywhere.

Jeremy Rawlinson, General Manager at Deliveroo, said: “We’ve had a fantastic first year and the service has been incredibly well received by local foodies. We’ve served thousands of local customers and we’re looking forward to continuing to bring delicious dishes straight from the hands of Bath’s chefs to customers’ doors.

“Our riders in Derby are now kitted out in their new hyper-reflective kit and locals can order from the fantastic variety of restaurants in Derby, whatever they want, whenever they want, all from the comfort of their own home, office desk or wherever else hunger strikes.

“We have a number of great partners across Derby and we are excited to expand and widen the variety of restaurants on offer to our customers over the coming year.”

Deliveroo is focused on providing the ultimate food delivery experience. Customers have the option to schedule orders via the Deliveroo app up to one day in advance or receive food as soon as possible between 12 noon and 11pm, from a variety of leading local, independent and high-quality chain restaurants, conveniently delivered to their homes and offices.
