New Head Chef Joseph Wood Joins The Kedleston Country House

The Kedleston Country House are pleased to announce Joseph Wood as the new Head Chef joining the established team. Joseph joins from the four star Breadsall Priory Marriott Hotel & Country Club where he worked for over 4 years, working his way up to Executive Chef.


Joseph is highly experienced and brings over 18 years expertise to the role having worked in a number of award winning establishments. He boasts an impressive CV with his previous experience including Restaurant Sat Bains, AA rosette and Michelin starred Fishers at Baslow Hall, 2 AA rosette East Lodge Horsley and most recently Breadsall Priory Marriott Hotel & Country Club.


In the early years of his training, he benefitted from training in a number of top establishments including Le Gavroche (London), Juniper (Altrincham) and Simpsons (Edgebaston).



Speaking on the appointment director Paul Harris commented ‘We are really excited to have Joseph join as our new Head Chef; his extensive experience and culinary knowledge is impressive and he will be a credit to The Kedleston. We were really impressed by his experience and his exciting plans for The Kedleston. We certainly enjoyed the dishes he cooked at his interview and we look forward to sampling his new menus and are sure our diners will be as impressed as we are.’


The Kedleston Country House which recently celebrated its first anniversary, combines a stunning Georgian building with a modern country house where you are assured of a warm welcome every time whether you are stopping by to sample our extensive drinks range, joining us for dining, spending the night in one of our five boutique bedrooms or for your perfect wedding day.
