Current managers at The King Alfred, Alison and Paul, took over the pub last year following the retirement of the previous manager.
“Previous manager Arthur saw the King Alfred through a huge transformation from the Old McDonalds Farm to the pub, bar and restaurant it is now. Says current manager at the pub Alison. “We’re doing the best we can to carry on all the hard work Arthur did in his 10 years here as manager… looking forward we have looked at feedback from our customers and we have a few areas of the business we want to develop… its all very exciting!”
The pub currently offers a range of real ales, coffees and hot drinks accompanying a main menu including traditional pub favourites and a large grill section.
Due to their growing success and a high demand the pub will be beginning to serve breakfasts from 9am next Monday and they are also currently planning a brand new menu set to launch on Good Friday. The new menu will include a range of burgers each uniquely named after a local landmark or famous local residents.
Coinciding with the half term school holidays, the pub will also be offering a special Kids Eat For £1 travelzoo deal for the rest of the week.
The pub is also looking to re-launch there website, to help keep their customers updated on everything at the King Alfred.
