Chatka Polish Restaurant & Bar
Buxton, Derbyshire

Chatka Polish Restaurant & Bar brings traditional Polish cooking to Spring Gardens in the heart of Buxton. Opened in August 2026 by friends Lidia Madra and Aimee Hockey, the restaurant combines hearty dishes with a homely setting inspired by its name, which means ‘old cottage’.

Polish chef Lidia has lived in Buxton for twenty years, and the menu reflects her background, with home-cooked favourites including goulash, schnitzels and pierogi dumplings. There is also a selection of homemade cakes, including apple pie, chocolate cake and cheesecake, offering something sweet to round off a meal.

The bar continues the Polish theme with Polish lager and vodka, alongside beers from Buxton Brewery, bringing together flavours from Poland and Derbyshire.

Located at 75 Spring Gardens, Chatka adds another cuisine to Buxton’s dining scene, giving local residents and visitors the opportunity to discover Polish comfort food or return to familiar favourites in the town centre.
