Maki & Ramen
Gateshead,

Maki & Ramen brings Japanese dining to The Qube at Metrocentre in Gateshead, with a menu centred on comforting bowls of ramen and freshly prepared sushi. The restaurant is the brand’s largest UK venue, offering a welcoming setting for family meals, catch-ups with friends or a break from shopping.

Founded by Teddy Lee in Edinburgh in 2015, Maki & Ramen draws on his training at a Tokyo sushi academy. Its approach combines traditional techniques with an accessible menu for both Japanese food enthusiasts and first-time visitors.

Signature tonkotsu ramen features a rich pork broth, noodles, pork and a soft-boiled egg, while sushi provides an alternative for those seeking something lighter. Vegetarian and vegan options broaden the choice, making it easy for mixed groups to dine together.

With Metrocentre’s shops and leisure attractions close by, the restaurant is conveniently placed for lunch, dinner or a meal before heading to the cinema.
