A historic market town in Warwickshire, Stratford-upon-Avon is best known as the birthplace of William Shakespeare. With its timber-framed buildings, riverside walks and theatre culture, it makes a wonderful destination for a short break or day trip.

Destination Information

Stratford-upon-Avon is located in Warwickshire around 30 miles south of Birmingham and is easily reachable by road or train. Most visitors spend a day or weekend exploring the town’s Shakespeare heritage, theatres and riverside parks.

The town is particularly lively during the summer months when performances and festivals take place around the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
