Bluey's is pleased to announce that their kitchen will re-open on Saturday 20th August. The restaurant has been quiet for two months while they looked for the right person to join the team. As Bluey remarked, “it's not about just finding someone who can cook, but finding someone who will fit in with us, and I firmly believe that Shane is that person.”

Shane Pownall is passionate about food, and is excited at the challenge of cooking the exotic meats. “I love food” he told Bluey, “I could talk about it all day long.”

Many people have been anxious to know what the new menu will be like, and Bluey has been quick to reassure them: “Don't worry,” he said firmly, “we're not changing our chips, they're staying as they are – proper hand-cut home-made chips!”

Bluey's will still be known for their char-grill steaks, but Shane is keen to add a few different things to the menu. In particular, he is adding a very popular Australian chicken dish. “Ah, but you'll have to come in to find out,” said Bluey with a chuckle. “I can't give too much away!”

“I can tell you that the Bluey Burger will stay on the menu, as well as the Build Your Own Burger options. And we've added a couple of British favourites to our Flamin' Galah Comedy Night menu. The breakfast menu won't be changing, and I know there are quite a few people who will be pleased to know we're opening again for Saturday mornings!”

“And yes, I can confirm that we will soon be starting Sunday Dinners, but as always, Bluey's are doing something a bit different. We will be offering a build your own Sunday Dinner, so you can have the dinner you want and like.”

“It's exciting times for Bluey's, and I'm looking forward to seeing how our new dishes are greeted by our customers.”

Bluey's is hosting a 'Guess the Exotic Meat Challenge' on Thursday and Friday night this week as a prelude to the kitchen re-opening on Saturday.
