Candlemaker is a family-run wine bar and tapas venue on Church Street in Ripley town centre. Opened by the team behind coffee shop Brewed Awakening, it occupies a building that operated as a candle factory, dating back to 1830.
The venue opens from morning until evening, combining a café-style daytime offering with drinks and dining later in the day. Its food selection includes breakfast dishes, sandwiches, grazing boards and tapas-style small plates, with vegetarian and vegan choices available. The drinks range covers wines, cocktails, beers, spirits and non-alcoholic options.
Inside, the building has been renovated while retaining elements connected to its history, creating several areas for coffee, food or drinks. Outdoor seating is available. Candlemaker welcomes families and dogs, and hosts occasional live music and other events. It is open seven days a week, with later closing times on Friday and Saturday, and tables can be reserved online in advance.
