Yellow Spark and Green Light From Natures Elite

Answer me a question: if we know something’s good for us, why don’t we do it? We’ve all heard about the fact that drinking a glass of water with Lemon in first thing in the morning is good for us, right? No massive revelation there. I’ve even done this a few times myself, but then given it up after a couple of weeks. Why have I given up? Frankly because I can’t be doing with the faff of juicing a fresh lemon and fannying about; I just haven’t got the time in the morning. And I suspect I’m not alone in this!

That’s where Natures Elite and their brilliantly named “Yellow Spark” come in. Packaged in a 330ml size bottle (same as the aluminium cans we are all familiar with), Yellow Spark is a zingy tasting combination of Orange and Lime juices and grated Lemon pulp – all fresh, no concentrate or additives – and Pinar Spring Water from Turkey, which is renowned for its health properties and alkalising effect on the blood. This beauty is jam-packed full of goodness: vitamins C, B1, B2, and B6, as well as a whole host of minerals our bodies need to thrive.

Some of the well-documented benefits of drinking this combination include purifying and stimulating the Liver; the detoxification power-house of the body, working in conjunction with the Kidneys. This means that toxins are more efficiently flushed out of the body, purifying the blood, balancing pH levels in the body, stimulating the Lymphatic system; I could go on, but you get the gist – this stuff is good for you.

When I tried the Yellow Spark, it reminded me of those traditional Lemonade drinks that you get at summer fairs; the ones where they squeeze Lemons fresh in front of you and add the juice to plain water, leaving you to add sugar as you want (I never do, I like that sharpness on my palate). You do need to shake the Yellow Spark before you drink it though, as all the Lemon pulp sinks to the bottom otherwise!

I have to say that I really enjoyed its clean, unadulterated taste. Oh, and it did “stimulate things” first thing, just in case you were wondering! So that’ll be another benefit to the Yellow Spark then; keeps you regular!

You can buy the Yellow Sparks in bulk and pop them in the freezer too, so they’re super-convenient. My kind of product!  Natures Elite recommend you have one or two of these per day. If you have popped them in the freezer and are drinking them when defrosted, then you need to use the Yellow Spark within 5 days. Oh, I should just mention that you can warm them up too and use them as a supercharged cold and flu remedy if you’re suffering from the lurgy – a bit like the traditional remedies my Nana used to concoct for me with Honey and Ginger in. I thoroughly enjoyed the Yellow Spark, and was looking forward to trying the “Green Light” later on in the day.

I had an earlier lunch than usual as I was booked on to a couple of classes at the gym and thought that I’d have the Green Light before heading off there to get sweaty. The Green Light is a fruit and vegetable smoothie-type drink; I say smoothie like because it’s got a lot more in it than your bog-standard smoothie. In addition to the 2 fruits, 5 vegetables, Coconut Water and 100% cold-pressed Apple juice there is Coconut Oil, Parsley, Spirulina, Wheatgrass, and a mix of Brown Linseeds, Flax-, Gold Chia-, Pumpkin-, Poppy-, Sesame-, and Sunflower-seeds in it too!!

The Green Light drink is in a slightly bigger bottle than its Yellow Spark sister, coming in a 500ml plastic bottle. You need to “shake it to wake it” as the fibre from the fruit and veg and the milled seeds tend to sink to the bottom a bit, but doing so allows you to fully appreciate its beautiful Emerald green hue. It can also be frozen if you buy it in bulk, and once opened needs using within 4 days.

I was sceptical at how nice this was going to taste and must admit to having a cheeky sniff at it before I took my first sip! It had a very pleasant aroma so I thought “come on gal, give it a bash”. Green Spark is nicely fruity, more so than I was expecting; no doubt this is because its first two ingredients are listed as Kiwi and Pineapple. Coconut water and 100% cold pressed Apple juice are added to give it a drinkable consistency.

Natures Elite say you can use the Green Light as a meal replacement if you’re aiming to lose weight, or simply as a way to get extra vitamins and minerals into your diet in a convenient fashion. No-one can argue the fact that it’s packed with Vitamins and Minerals, and healthy oils from the seeds; I think the great thing about this product is that there are no nasty additives or preservatives in it.

Personally , I didn’t use it as a meal replacement (I’m too much of a glutton!), but what I did do was use it as I’d planned; as a pre-workout fuel on my way to the gym. My usual routine is to have lunch at 1pm then go to the gym on an empty stomach and have dinner when I get home about 7.15pm, by which time my tummy is growling at me! So I was really happy with the fact that I didn’t have a rumbling tum when it was time to head home, and I didn’t get any cramps or stitch from having had the Green Light either. Win-Win.

I did have a bit more of a spring in my step in class, but whether this was down to the Green Light or just “in my head” I can’t honestly say. I felt good though, and that’s what matters really isn’t it?

I want to draw your attention to the fact that this is very much a local (Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire) business that is still in its infancy. It is literally a duo that does all the work, and they have poured their hearts and souls into developing this product over the last two years. They do offer a collection service from Sutton-in-Mansfield Monday-Friday between 3-11pm,but for further information or to ask if there is an alternative collection option then head over to their Facebook Page

So it’s a case of two Hot Wings awards being handed out to the Natures Elite team – I liked both your products.
