Local Codnor business woman Vicky Clark, of The Creative Kitchen Company, has won several awards at The British Pie Awards 2018. Being placed in one of the top three slots for the Lamb Pie class meant that Vicky got invited back to the awards lunch. Her Minted Lamb pie scooped the “Highly Commended” slot from the contests judges, all of whom are top professionals in the baking and culinary worlds.
A couple of days later the true extent of The Creative Kitchen Company’s’ success was revealed. The Minted Lamb pie was crowned with a Gold medal, a Silver medal was awarded to the Meat and Potato pie, and a Bronze medal for the Beef and Red Wine pie, making it a hat-trick of medals and the Highly Commended award for Vicky.
This is the first time that Vicky’s Creative Kitchen Company has entered the competition, and as the Chairman of the British Pie Awards, Dr. Matthew O’Callaghan OBE, says, “winning an award against 963 other pies is no mean feat”.
The Creative Kitchen Company are accredited by Coeliac UK, so individuals with Coeliac disease can be 100% confident that they’re enjoying safe gluten-free options.
Another Codnor business, C.N Wright butchers, supplies Vicky with the meat for her pies; not only is their produce top class, but it supports the local economy, which is something Vicky is passionate about.
The Creative Kitchen Company has stands at several local Farmers’ Markets (including Sutton Bonnington and Belper), does direct sales via their website, and also does event catering. Local pubs were keen to capitalise on the quality and popularity of The Creative Kitchens’ produce, and several of them have their pies supplied by Vicky.
