The Big Lunch is back and coming to a neighbourhood near you on Sunday 3 June 2018!
The idea is simple. In June each year, The Big Lunch encourages people to spend a few hours sharing food and friendship with their neighbours, celebrating community spirit right across the nation.
Last year a whopping 9.3 million people took part in one of the 96,000 events organised across the UK….and this year you could be one of them.
To be a part of The Big Lunch, the UK’s annual get-together for neighbours, go to thebiglunch.com for a FREE pack to help you organise your own Big Lunch with your community…..And if you haven’t got yards of bunting or a 30ft trestle table, fear not, we’ll let you into a little secret. The Big Lunch doesn’t have to be BIG and it might not even be lunch. It could simply be a biscuit and a chinwag with the family next door.
Big Lunch Ambassador Ainsley Harriott, is encouraging the nation to get eating and meeting. He says: “It’s no secret that I love food. I love preparing it, cooking it and serving it. But the thing I love most about food is sharing it. You don’t need to be a gourmet chef to host a Big Lunch, just rustle up some simple snacks and invite the neighbours round for a natter.”
Everyone’s invited – so what are you waiting for? Come join the biggest community celebration the UK has ever seen, made possible by the National Lottery.
