Here at Sticky Beak HQ we love hearing about local venues success stories, and this one really pleased us.
If you go down Bridge Street, an unremarkable side street that looks pretty much like any other in Sandiacre, you’ll stumble across a little gem by the name of La Rock. Head Chef and Owner, Nick Gillespie and his team are the proud recipients of 2 AA Rosettes for their culinary excellence.
Two rosettes is the highest accolade a venue can receive on its maiden inspection so this is a huge achievement for La Rock; especially when you consider that only 10% of restaurants nationally meet the exacting standard to receive one or more Rosettes.
It isn’t just the mind-blowingly good food that shines at La Rock, their standard of service is also a factor that keeps Nottingham and Derbyshire foodies heading back time and time again. Unusually, La Rocks success has come about largely through word-of-mouth rather than as the result of a glitzy advertising campaign, testament again to its quality.
The AA rosettes are the latest in a line of successes; La Rock was awarded the Best Fine Dining Restaurant accolade from the Nottingham Post at their Food and Drink Awards in 2015, and made it to the final in 2016. This year sees them up for nomination again at Nottinghamshire’s Food and Drink Awards run by The Nottingham Post, and we wish them all the luck in the world :)
