Popular Derbyshire farm shop Croots is offering a super way to treat dads this Father’s Day with a ‘click and collect’ Father’s Day afternoon tea special.

The farm shop near Duffield has put together a tasty selection of sweet and savoury items that are sure to go down well on Father’s Day, which takes place on Sunday 21st June.

Croots is also offering a choice of two differently designed Father’s Day beer packs. Each features four bottles of delicious English Pale Ale with citrus notes, bottled for Croots Farm Shop by Tollgate Brewery, based on the National Trust's Calke Abbey Estate near Ashby De-La-Zouch. Each four-pack is presented in a gift box and priced £13.50.

The Father’s Day afternoon tea for one features half a Mr Pitchfork’s harvest chutney topped Croots small pork pie, a brioche bun with roast beef, horseradish and watercress, a chicken tikka, lettuce and mayonnaise wrap, a pot of Mr Pitchfork’s red onion chutney, a Croots pork and apple sausage roll, a cheese scone, a Guinness cupcake with frosting and two chocolate mint crisps.

Or for dads with more of a sweet tooth, there’s the Croots regular afternoon tea for one featuring finger sandwiches, homemade fruit scone, jam and clotted cream, homemade lemon drizzle cake, homemade strawberry cream éclair and fresh strawberries.

Both options cost £10.95 and are available to collect on 19th, 20th and 21st June. Please order at least 48 hours in advance. (Please note: the accompanying image shows a Father’s Day afternoon tea for two).

During lockdown, the farm shop based at Farnah House Farm, Wirksworth Road, has been providing customers with ‘click and collect’ and ‘park and shop’ options, along with local delivery to elderly and vulnerable customers.

Both the Father’s Day afternoon tea and the Father’s Day beer packs are available via ‘click and collect’.

“Afternoon tea has become a hugely popular pastime and ordinarily we would have expected our coffee shop and café to be very busy with families treating their dads on Father’s Day, but just because our café hasn’t reopened yet doesn’t mean we can’t offer a treat for dads,” explained Kay Croot, who runs the farm shop with husband Steve.

“Our Father’s Day afternoon tea special has been designed for families to either deliver to their dads or to enjoy with the dads in their household.”

Award-winning Croots Farm Shop opened 12 years ago this month and specialises in supplying top quality local food and drink, along with carefully sourced products from further afield. The family-run business works with more than 40 suppliers from within a 50-mile radius of the shop, which is based at the farm operated by Kay’s parents Jim and Sue Yates. It has a well-stocked butchery which has won numerous awards, as well as a deli and cheese counter. The team at Croots makes and bakes an increasing range of home-made products on site.
