Pizza lovers and bargain hunters are in for a treat with the opening of a brand new PizzaExpress restaurant at East Midlands Designer Outlet, South Normanton.

The new restaurant, located off junction 28 of the M1, can seat 170 people and means jobs for 30 new team members, comprising seven pizzaiolos and 18 waiters and waitresses.  An estimated 1,000 kilos of dough will be used in the first month as the team prepares to serve up 5,000 pizzas and 1,000 portions of PizzaExpress’ iconic Dough Balls.

In addition, the new restaurant will become the first PizzaExpress restaurant to trial a new breakfast menu to customers.  The tempting menu includes delicious, Italian pastries, which can be served with any hot drink for just £3.50, oven baked eggs made to order, and Rotolini – PizzaExpress’ famous dough, folded and filled with a free range egg and the best PizzaExpress fillings, and served straight from the oven.  All dishes can be ordered to go or enjoyed in the restaurant between 8.30am and 11.30am and bargain hunters can collect stamps so, after five breakfasts, the sixth is free.*

Zsuzs Orban, manager of PizzaExpress East Midlands Designer Outlet, said, “We will have a beautiful new restaurant and can’t wait to show it off to customers. We have a friendly and enthusiastic team who are looking forward to welcoming everyone over a delicious pizza – or even breakfast!”

PizzaExpress exciting spring/summer menu has plenty of new options, including even more low calorie mains and desserts, a new range of premium pizzas, called Romana65, the return of some classic salads, the introduction of new salads, new gluten-free recipes and summery desserts.

PizzaExpress is also, for only the second time in its 50 year history, giving budding chefs the chance to create their own pizza.  The winning creation will appear on the menu at over 440 PizzaExpress restaurants across the UK later this year. The winner will receive £10,000 and a holiday. Visit www.pizzaexpress.com/create to enter.

For younger pizza-lovers, PizzaExpress’ Piccolo menu is full of tasty choices including ‘Create Your Own’ pizza, and starts at just £3.95.  And for budding chefs looking to celebrate a birthday, a Pizza Making Party will see them transformed into pizzaiolos so they can stretch, toss and top their own pizza and play party games before sitting down to enjoy their culinary creations.
