intu Derby is adding to its food and drink offering with the arrival of Rikshaw Urban Indian Kitchen this spring.
Opening in the food court in April, Rikshaw Urban Indian Kitchen will bring a taste of the North Indian street food scene at intu Derby. The menu will feature Asian street food staples including curries, chaats and sizzling grills that will be cooked fresh each day. All food served at the eatery will be halal, as well as offering extensive vegetarian options, plus a dedicated vegan menu.
Already a firm favourite with diners across the East Midlands, the Nottingham branch of Rikshaw Urban Indian Kitchen was crowned East Midlands’ Takeaway of the Year in a prestigious national competition last year and was a runner-up in the category for Best Indian Restaurant in the 2019 Nottinghamshire Live Food and Drink Awards.
Rikshaw Urban Indian Kitchen will bring further diversity to intu Derby’s extensive range of eateries in the food court, which includes German Donner Kebab, Subway, KFC, Thai Express and Tasty Plaice.
Adam Tamsett, general manager at intu Derby, said: “Rikshaw Urban Indian Kitchen’s award-winning food is the perfect accompaniment to the centre’s wide range of food options and we’re delighted they’ve chosen to open at intu Derby.
“We’re committed to bringing great dining experiences to our visitors and we’re confident that Rikshaw will be a hit.”
Shani Shafiq, owner of Rikshaw Urban Indian Kitchen, commented: “We’re so excited to be bringing our award-winning food to intu Derby.
“Derby foodies – get ready to tuck into our tasty authentic food, we can’t wait to meet you in April!”
The announcement follows a raft of new brands arriving at intu Derby, including Hobbs, Skechers, BEAR, Spartoo, Design 44 and BOSS.
