Blueys Comedy Night In Alfreton A Great Success

On Tuesday the 29th July, Blueys in Alfreton held it's Bi-Monthly Comedy Night and once again it was a great success, have a read of what our reviewer thought.

Had an absolutely blinding night on Tuesday at the bi-monthly comedy night that Blueys host. It only costs a fiver for an attractiontix ticket and there is normally 5 different comedians doing a slot each, with the main headline act (this time Ian Cognito) coming last.

There was a good crowd in, so it was shaping up to have a bit of a buzz. The Compere was side-splittingly funny, and had a great rapport with the audience, which kept the evening flowing slickly.

After the first act (who was a bit nervous, but good nonetheless) there was a short break to allow folk to refresh their drinks and nip to the lavatory as needed.

Then it kicked on with the next 3 comedians, who all got good responses from the audience. Some of the jokes were a bit bawdy (THANK GOD! Who needs political correctness or politeness on a comedy night?), and all went down well - one that stood out for me was “what’s the difference between pink and purple? grip! Again, there was an interval to allow the purchasing of more alcohol and emptying of bladders.

The last act was Ian Cognito, who normally is above the “local pay grade“ but knows Blue and Leonie so came to entertain their friends. His act has a very definite style, based on a beer –swilling, opinionated lout who stands on his own soapbox about each and every subject.

I know I said it last time, but seriously guys, for a fiver and a superb range of beers, wines and spirits on your doorstep, you’d be mad to miss it. Look out for details on the next Flamin’ Galah night on this site, you know it makes sense.
