Opening Friday 21st October, The Palfrey is a newly refurbished, contemporary restaurant and wine bar located in the historic Old Blacksmiths Yard on Sadler Gate.
Split over two levels, the rustic and industrial bar can be found downstairs with adjacent courtyard for casual dining and drinks, whilst upstairs the inviting restaurant is full of intimate charm. Amongst the soft leather, polished copper, extraordinary lighting and bespoke installations, it is impossible not to enjoy a leisurely bottle of wine or one of the bar’s signature cocktails.
The kitchen itself has an open pass to showcase stunning dishes, crafted by Head Chef Danny Edwards. His menu is eclectic and ambitious, and all cooked freshly to order using organic, locally sourced produce. The numerous vegetarian and gluten free options will delight diners with dietary requirements, as they are truly tempting alternatives which do not compromise on creativity. The Palfrey breaks loose from the typical gourmet pub grub, and instead combines unique ingredients and flavours that are beautifully arranged on handcrafted stoneware.
Everywhere you look are thoughtful little touches that make this dining experience feel truly special, and an evening can easily slip away in this cosy nook.
