Plans for a unique alternative food festival in Derby have been unveiled.
AltEats Festival will take place at the Roundhouse in Derby on Sunday 19th May this year, bringing the absolute best in alternative food suppliers together under one roof.
The organisers of the show commented: “AltEats Festival was born out of a love for food and a growing awareness of people’s intolerances and allergies. We think you shouldn't have to miss out on great taste if you're avoiding certain foods. With more and more people making active diet choices for lifestyle or intolerance reasons, it’s the perfect time for an event like this.”
The Roundhouse will be divided into various alternative food and drink zones: gluten-free, dairy-free and meat-free, along with independent lifestyle and homeware brands.
The event is aimed at supporting independent businesses who offer alternative food and drink options. We’ll explore the story behind the maker’s journey. There will also be a series of workshops, hands-on experiences and talks across two theatres with some of the best minds on the alternative food scene.
Tickets are now on sale with an exclusive discount for those that book early. Tickets cost £5.95 each, with a £2 early bird discount available. VIP tickets cost £14.95 and will grant access to exclusive discounts and samples at the show, as well as a tote bag filled with goodies, fast-track entry and reserved seating in the talks.
The organisers, GSE Media/Crocstar Media, said: “Alternative food options have become increasingly popular in recent times so we are delighted to bring this unique food festival to Derby. It’s the first of its kind in the Midlands and is set to be very popular.”
Exhibition space is still available, with a range of options to suit all budgets. Updates about the event will be announced in due course, to hear the latest news follow “AltEatsFest” on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. You can also sign up for updates via the website www.alteatsfest.co.uk
